David Muñoz was one of the fastest riders from the first free practice sessions, while Ana Carrasco took a positive step forward
BOÉ Motorsports has completed the Indonesian Grand Prix qualifying session with good results and a very competitive performance from its two riders since Friday.
David Muñoz, despite being racing at a new circuit for him, was among the fastest from the first practice sessions. The BOÉ Motorsports rider finished Friday’s Practice 1 in tenth position, but even in the following sessions he continued to improve and lowered his best time by two seconds to finish in twelfth position with a 1:39.707, which qualified him directly for Q2.
For her part, Ana Carrasco improved her best time from Practice 1 to Practice 2 by almost two seconds, a time she continued to improve in the third practice by a further eight tenths to finish with a 1:41.027.
Ana had to go through Q1, a session in which she made another big step forward and in which she finished eleventh with a best time of 1:40.689. In his case, David Muñoz was really competitive in Q2 and, thanks to a lap of 1:39.473, the Andalusian rider will start tomorrow from tenth position on the starting grid.
David Muñoz:“We finished a very positive Saturday for us. We worked a lot on the pace, as well as the fast lap, which I think is our weak point, but we are happy with how Saturday ended. Tomorrow from tenth position we will be able to have a good race from the start, so we will go for it. Thank you very much to the team for all their work”.
Ana Carrasco:“Today we had a good QP. We improved our best time of the weekend by more than half a second and we did a good job. I’m happy but not satisfied because I made some mistakes on key laps and I think I could have improved by three or four tenths that would have given me some positions. But, anyway, we have a very good pace, the bike works well and we will have a good race tomorrow”.
Tomorrow’s race at the Mandalika circuit will start at six o’clock in the morning in Spain and twelve o’clock midday in Indonesia.
