Both David Muñoz and Vicente Pérez are showing a good performance and, respectively, will start tomorrow’s race from eighth and seventeenth position
The last triple header of the MotoGP World Championship season is underway with the Malaysian Grand Prix, where BOÉ Motorsports is proving to be strong and competitive with its two riders in the Moto3 class.
In the practice sessions, since Friday, David Muñoz has been placed from the beginning in the positions of direct access to Q2. The Andalusian rider was among the top ten fastest riders in the category on the first day, while on Saturday he maintained his good form in practice 3 with the twelfth position that kept him in Q2.
On the other hand, Vicente Pérez has gone from strength to strength with a great progression. The rider from Cullera started the weekend at the back, in nineteenth position at the end of Friday. In practice three he could not move up positions and had to go through Q1, a session in which he was able to confirm his improvement with the fourth position that gave him access to Q2 with a best lap of 2:12.746.
At the end, in this final qualifying session, David Muñoz was eighth with a time of 2:12.229, while Pérez finished seventeenth with a best time of 2:13.503.
David Muñoz:“The day started well, I had a good feeling, but not good enough. We have to adjust the settings for tomorrow’s race so that everything is perfect. I think we will fight at the front tomorrow, I hope to make a step forward like every Sunday. We have the potential to do it, we have shown it many times. Thank you very much to the team for their work”.
Vicente Pérez:“It was a very positive day. We worked very well from the start, we knew we could be at the front and we managed to get through to Q2, which was the first objective. We didn’t achieve the second objective, which was to be a bit further ahead. But tomorrow we can do well in the race, we have a good pace and in Q1 I did the time on my own, which is important in this category. In Q2 we were a little bit off because we made a modification to the bike that I didn’t like, but we had to try it. Tomorrow we will give our best, it will be a long race and the physical aspect will count a lot. Once again, I thank the team and José Ángel Gutiérrez Boé for this opportunity”.
Tomorrow’s race in Sepang will start at five o’clock in the morning in Spain and at twelve o’clock in Malaysia.
