Vicente Pérez and David Muñoz were two of the most outstanding riders in Qatar, where they finished the race in fifth and twelfth position respectively
The Qatar Grand Prix has come to an end at the Lusail International Circuit, where the two BOÉ Motorsports riders have completed a very positive weekend for the Spanish team.
Both David Muñoz and Vicente Pérez have managed to go from strength to strength and in each practice session they were able to show that the team’s work on the set-up of the bike was paying off.
In the race, Vicente Pérez started eleventh and David Muñoz twenty-first, but by the second lap the two Spanish riders were already in the top ten in the fight for the front positions.
The race took place in a large front group, with no breakaway riders at the front, and the battles between the Moto3 riders were constant. Despite these difficult conditions for all the riders, both David Muñoz and Vicente Pérez managed to stay strong at all times. In fact, Pérez was able to fight for podium positions in the final laps and crossed the finish line in fifth position. For his part, David Muñoz managed to return to the points with a positive twelfth position at a circuit where he had never raced the Moto3.
Vicente Pérez:“It was a very positive race. At the beginning it was a bit difficult because I touched with several riders and I didn’t have the best feeling, but little by little I implemented my pace. We knew that this weekend we were strong on our own and I was able to get to the front group and finish fifth. I am very happy to do this result for the team, I can only thank them for all the help they are giving me, especially Jose Ángel for continuing to believe in me”.
David Muñoz:“We finished a weekend in which we tried to get a good result in the race, but it wasn’t possible. We have to keep working to be better because we can do it, but well, there are weekends that are better for us and others worse. In the race I felt good from the beginning, I started to ride as I know how and I pushed until the end, but in the last part of the race we lacked a little bit. We have to keep improving for next week, we will give everything in Valencia, we want to finish the season well, we deserve it. Many thanks to my team for their work and to all those who support me”.
The next race will be held in Valencia, at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, during the weekend of 25-26 November. It will be the last Grand Prix of the season.
