Eighth place for David Muñoz and Eleventh for Joel Kelso. Good points to keep the team in the standings.
The German GP began with a lot of uncertainty due to all the drivers who had to serve a penalty, which could greatly affect the final result. The BOE Motorsports drivers were exempt from penalties and took advantage of a good start to take the lead group.
David Muñoz led the race during the first laps, after the fall of Colin Veijer, although from the middle of the race he could not hold the pace and made sure to finish the race with the maximum points, which keeps him fifth in the World Championship.
Joel Kelso has managed to improve his sensations on the bike on Saturday, which has allowed him to be back in the fight with the front group, as in the first races of the year. In the end the result is not what I expected, but the progress on Sunday has been positive and he continues to add points in the championship.
David Muñoz: “The start was very good and leading is always positive but today it was difficult for me to have confidence on the bike and from the middle of the race I struggled a lot to keep up with the group. I wanted to finish the race and get the maximum points. Now to rest during the summer break and come back stronger.”
Joel Kelso: “This has been a very complicated weekend for me. We haven’t found a way to get the full potential out of the bike and although I felt good about riding, the times weren’t working out. The positive thing is that today in the race we managed to improve and thanks to this I was able to stay with the leading group. In the end the result is not what I want, but I am left with the progress we have made and the effort of my entire team to improve the bike. “There is light at the end of the tunnel and after the summer break we are sure to be as competitive as we were at the beginning of the season.”
The next Grand Prix will be held from August 2 to 4 at Silverstone.
